From the stash of yarn...
From the parcel I could able to see a huge variety of yarn from Germany and am confused to find a pattern of using them.
First I tried a beanie cap for me....
Then I tried a shawl....
Among the yarn, there was a single piece of brown yarn, which my brother selected to make something for him. And I found a way......full of chain stitches by my little fingers..

My first b'day gift.......
It was my first birthday after our engagement and I was very eager to know my surprise gift from my fiancee. A week before my birthday a parcel from Germany came home. I was guessing the types of gifts which could be inside the parcel....when I opened the parcel I was shocked to see a set of knitting needles.
The thing is, I know only to crochet and not to knit. Then I started to learn knitting only for the gifts and finally I made a shawl out of that.....

My initial crochet stitches...
It was during my class II summer holidays my mom taught me, my brother and cousins crocheting to keep us busy, calm and engaged. She taught us three stitches and we completed a bag. But then, we didn't know the name of those stitches. Later during my college days, I explored to find them as chain, single crochet and double crochet.
Here we are with the video graph of the initial stitches........

My Inspiration
It was during my class three, i was inspired by a bag used by my class teacher. It was made of wool. Still then I have seen bags made of nylon threads by my mom. For the first time I had a spark, and tried with the left over yarn of my grandma who knits sweater for us. I did that.......and it came out well. And to find the stitch used in that bag I asked her to teach me and she did. Finally i tried that and the stitch was wow.... Here is one recent pic of a purse using that stitch.
It was during our wedding, my husband's friends came to India. And to give them a small memento we planned many things finally our(my sister and myself) idea was accepted by our parents. The idea is things made out of handwork, and yes we did them all. Here is a pic of our memento, with the above said stitch. The purse is known as potli.

My bag.....
My mom made a bag with two granny squares for me. The granny squares were the two sides of the bag and there were roses on each side. It was my lunchbox bag till I learn crochet. Finally a day came for learning crochet. It was during our summer vacation for class three, my mom taught us the art of crochet. I was able to make a bag with two colors...and it took nearly two months to complete. I was proud to take my lunch in the bag which I made. I felt hard to play with nylon threads and that made me to experiment the threads with which am playing now.

My mom's work....
My mom used to crochet bags with nylon threads and beads. She is a good crocheter of bags, and plays well with two colors. My favorite one among them was a brown bag with full of white roses, the bag which she made to pack my things before my arrival to this wonderful world....and she made two more for my younger brothers...which is being used. She is the one who taught me to crochet. The story of my learning will arrive soon......

Dancing Needles......
I would like to pen down my passion for crochet, which passed through generations in our family. It was my grand mother, who made doilies and so on.... My mom started making bags with crochet and up-to my remembrance everyone in our family carried them for their lunch box.
